BRAIN AND RECORDS
Keep knowledge scoped, cited, and reviewable.
This guide covers the Brain and Records workflows in the Velora desktop app. The public changelog tracks the app release that includes each feature.
Add a selected source to a room
- Open the room’s Brain panel and choose text, a folder, a spreadsheet row, a PDF page, or a supported GitHub issue excerpt.
- Review the exact excerpt, location, source and intended room audience.
- Submit it as a proposal. A room manager publishes it before an agent can retrieve it.
- Open a citation from a reply to revisit the source. Velora checks current room access and the cited revision again.
Selected folder and document text is processed on demand. Folder search skips hidden files and returns line references; PDF citations identify their page; spreadsheet citations identify the sheet and row. A scanned PDF needs OCR before its text can be searched or cited.
Private chat is chat only. “Remember this” in a private chat saves only after review to local private memory. A room save is a proposal until a manager publishes it. Project and organization membership never follow from a room invitation.
Work with Records
Create organization-scoped record types and typed fields, or import a CSV or XLSX file after reviewing its column mapping and duplicate preview. Records can link to other Records and confirmed knowledge, and each Record or field has its own discussion. Source-backed AI field values remain proposals until a person accepts them.
Inspect and carry context
Shared agent turns create Context Packets with their objective, audience, selected source revisions, permitted actions, budget and recorded delivery text. Open the packet from its reply or run card to inspect the evidence and model attempts.
For a cross-room handoff, choose a destination room and review the goal, decisions, verified work and open questions before posting. Only sources already published in the destination can be cited; the preview shows references that will be dropped. Posting rechecks membership and source revisions.
Forget and revoke
Forgetting a room source removes its retrievable text and redacts affected Context Packet payloads and receipts while retaining a redacted audit marker. Citations whose access or revision changed cannot be reopened as current evidence. External actions continue to use Velora’s approval controls.
